A recent Oxford Economics study indicates that every $1 spend towards effective business meetings will increase productivity and thus output by $4 to $6 more.

As the world is increasingly changing into a global community with no limiting boarders, we face both opportunities and challenges in a new economic and business environment. Many times organizations face having to reorganize, to take advantage of opportunities, or perish under the surmounting pressure of the rapid changes, and the challenges that comes with it. These challenges put increasingly greater demand on effectiveness and collaboration, and higher demands on efficient use of time and money.

One of the keys to thriving in this seemly chaotic world is the ability to connect with others and build relationships that releases energy, which empowers your organization with an increased capacity to meet its challenges face to face, and turn them into opportunities for growth. Can your organization use innovative ways to instill greater participation and commitment to action that would drive your business to the success you seek, even in the face of these challenges?

Meetings are elemental to driving an organization towards its purpose, while addressing challenges as they arise. In that aspect, the same Oxford Economics study also strongly indicates that in particular face-to-face meetings are at least 2.5 times more effective in converting prospective clients, then non-face-to-face meetings. How effective are your meetings in enabling your organization to capitalize on opportunities and deal with its challenges?

Stargue organizes in collaboration with the Curaçao Leadership Forum, and in support of the Youth Vision 5000 Foundation, a High Performance Leadership Workshop on Open Space, in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. This event will be part of a series in planning and organizing for an Open Space Technology meeting of about 5000 participants.

Description

Imagine a method of meeting that enables the co-creation of change, facilitating the development of innovative approaches to complex challenges, within half a day to 3 days. One engaging theme attracts and fills up the space with a diverse group of motivated people, who together create their own agenda and everyone chooses their topics to discuss, tapping into the collective wisdom of the group. One Law, four principles, practices, and processes, inspires both passion and responsibility in each participant, enabling them to move swiftly through the self-organized concurrent meeting sessions, collaborating in anyway that best suites them, which ultimately drives their commitment to action. In the end, all that mattered has been discussed and recorded, next steps have been identified, and commitments for action have been made. That is an Open Space Technology (OST) meeting.
