Working Together Experience strengthens collaboration between entrepreneurs
With almost 24,000 companies on an island with an economically active population of 73,000+, Curaçao bursts of entrepreneurship. Nevertheless, it remains in the doldrums with the economy and there are many entrepreneurs with minimal income. This is partly because they do not collaborate. However, how do you start a good partnership? Won’t it be abused? Who can you trust?

The Curaçao Business Council for Sustainable Development (BedrijvenPlatform Milieu, BPM) is a non-profit association for businesses, focused on sustainable development and exchange of, promote, and support knowledge and experience in the areas of Environment, Quality and Occupational Health and Safety management (EQOHS), for the benefit of its members and for sustainable growth on Curaçao.

In servicing its purpose, BPM has upgraded its website, releases a quarterly newsletter informing members and the general public about BPM’s activities and achievements and provides members with a forum to present their sustainable development news, projects, and progress.
Nonetheless, some key issues of BPM’s current state that makes it critical to consider developing a communication plan such as among others:

  • Internal communication,
  • Member involvement, and
  • Recognition

BPM2 towards the stakeholders into a structured and sustainable effort to effectively and progressively improving the general public's perception of BPM and increasing its members’ engagement.

Stargue facilitated the sessions to collectively harness the existing knowledge assets of BPM into a strategic communication plan that would serve as the guiding roadmap for all internal and external communication, providing in a credible, compelling and consistent way, the vital information and two-way communication the member organizations’ people need, to play their part effectively in support of BPM’s strategic objectives; and subsequently, delivered the results in a final BPM Strategic Communication Plan document.
